Práce shrnuje charakteristiky šesti genetických typů sedimentů. U jednotlivých skupin a typů fluviálních, ledovcových, eolických, svahových, jezerních i jeskynních sedimentů autoři popisují jejich strukturní a texturní znaky, na základě kterých můžeme odlišovat i procesy a podmínky jejich vzniku. Důležitou součástí je bohatá fotografická dokumentace jednotlivých typů sedimentů z výskytů na území České republiky.

The work summarizes the characteristics of six genetic types of sediments. For each group and type of fluvial, glacier, eolian, slope, lake and cave sediments, the authors describe their structural and textural features, on the basis of which we can also distinguish the processes and conditions of their origin. An important part is the rich photographic documentation of individual types of sediments from occurrences in the territory of the Czech Republic.
