About the Bookstore of the Czech Geological Survey

The bookstore of the Czech Geological Survey offers around 3000 products, both from our own production and from other publishing houses. We sell mainly maps, books, journals but also DVDs, CDs or field work equipment. We do not focus only on specialists in geosciences, we provide books for children or for wide public as well.

The Czech Geological Survey (CGS), the history of which has started in 1919, has evolved during almost 90 years of its existence into an internationally recognized research institute covering a wide range of geo-scientific topics and services both in the Czech Republic and overseas. The Czech Geological Survey collects and assesses information about the geology of the Czech state territory and provides it to state authorities for their politic, economic and environmental decision-making. The main fields of expertise include geological mapping and research, study of mineral resources and their economic potential, mining impact assessment, geochemistry, environmental studies, applied geology, hydrogeology and natural hazards, geo-data management and GIS.

We have online shop only in czech, but you can contact us with your request on email obchod@geology.cz .

As for foreign orders, the purchaser has to make inquiries about the possibility of sending and current postal charge for the appropriate country (please write an e-mail to obchod@geology.cz). The postal charge 120 Kč applies to the Czech Republic only.
